The incredible luxuriousness of the pile and remarkable detail in the weaving cannot be explained fully except to those who have actually seen and touched one of these carpets. These 'original' pieces are in a different universe entirely from the lesser copies that have appeared in the markets over the past 8 years or so. All natural dyes on a 'qurt' wool pile, wool warp and weft. The rarity of these carpets is even more so when it comes to runners of this type. This one, and its near-twin, being the only two that I have come across in my carpet quests.
